Often referred to as Old Tahoe and located less than a mile from historic Cave Rock in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range where thrill seekers come to hike and climb some of the most challenging terrains in the country. When you buy a home in Lincoln Highway, you’re buying a piece of history. Development on the community began in 1929, making it one of the oldest neighborhoods surrounding picturesque Lake Tahoe.

Lincoln Highway is the perfect place to raise a family. Well-maintained trails are ideal for getting the entire family out and about to enjoy some walking or biking. Access to a private beach reserved just for homeowners is a bonus. The kids can build sandcastles and safely swim in the gorgeous, cobalt blue water while the parents relax with a book on the beach or venture into the water for some boating, paddle boarding, or canoeing.

The excellent school district makes the area even more appealing for families. The Douglas County School District is highly-rated and is known for providing an excellent education to over 6,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12th. After high school, nearly half of the graduates from the Douglas County School District go on to pursue college degrees, with almost 20 percent earning a bachelor’s degree or higher.

With a high-quality education comes easy access to jobs in the area. Many of the residents are below the age of 30, and able to own their home versus renting because of the availability of great jobs in the area. One of the largest employers is, in fact, the Douglas County School District where residents who were once students choose to go back and work.
